Cyril Meduña
Cyril is the founder and President of Advent-Morro, the private equity firm that manages VCFI, GPEF-I, GPEF-II, and GPEF-III. Prior to forming Advent-Morro, Cyril was the Regional Manager for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean for Ehrlich Bober & Co. Inc, a New York-based investment bank. From 1982 to 1986, Cyril worked for the Chase Manhattan Bank N.A. and Chase Manhattan Capital Markets in both New York and Puerto Rico. Cyril is also the owner of Meduña & Co., Inc. (“MCI”). From 1987 to 2006, MCI was a broker/dealer registered with the SEC, the NASD and the Commissioner of Financial Institutions of Puerto Rico. Cyril’s relevant venture capital experience extends over 25 years and includes sourcing, analyzing, structuring, investing, monitoring and exiting portfolio company investments made by VCFI, GPEF-I and GPEF-II. In addition, Cyril has had experience in the syndication and participation of private equity investments with other U.S. venture capital and private equity funds, local institutional, and other investors that have totaled over $100 million in additional capital for portfolio companies. Cyril sits on the board of directors of most portfolio companies of the Advent-Morro’ funds. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University.
